People often tend to judge artists by calculating the 3 hours of stage performance or 1 hour of recording of a song in Studios. But our lives are much beyond those few hours of public appearances.

It is the years of hard work we put in honing our art, the hours of riyaaz and practice we put in making us better each day, the sleepless nights we spend in travelling across countries, or the hours of effort we put in creating a 4 min song. An artist is measured by all these years of hard work and effort that goes into shaping them.

Any form of art like music, dance, painting, etc can never be learnt. An artist is blessed by God with the art he/she pursues. Either you have it, or you dont! And the moment an artist takes pride in his art, it will start degrading. We are mere bearers of the gift of God and are supposed to take utmost care of it. That is what makes an artist different from a common man, makes them special.
